Delivery

Christmas 2024

Mid December 2024: we are busy, and orders are currently taking three or four days to ship. Royal Mail and the courier companies are also under some strain.

Do not place an order if you need the items immediately!

We will continue to ship orders until December 23, but we cannot guarantee that these orders will arrive before Christmas. Last orders for Christmas should be placed by Wednesday 18 December.

The last order date for smaller international parcels which are shipped with Royal Mail has now passed.

Delivery within the United Kingdom

We currently offer free shipping on orders over £75 within mainland UK, including the Scottish highlands.

We endeavour to send out most orders within one to two working days of receipt. Orders placed after 8 am will be sent out on the next working day at the earliest, not the same day. Despatch may be slower at very busy times, in particular before Christmas: please bear this in mind when ordering, and leave sufficient time. You will receive an email that confirms that your parcel has been sent. (Do check your junk folder: we find that these emails are sometimes caught by spam filters.)

Our parcels are sent with Royal Mail Tracked 24, or with DPD, depending upon size and weight — both of these services aim (but do not guarantee) to deliver within one working day of despatch. They slow down at busy times. Royal Mail currently deliver Monday to Saturday, but DPD deliver Monday to Friday only.

International Delivery

Orders to Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand will be despatched within 48 hours of receipt and should be received within 5 days of being sent, though we cannot guarantee this.

We currently offer free shipping for orders over £260 to most European destinations, as well as USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, China, Hong Kong and South Korea.

Orders to the Rest of the World: if the parcel weighs under 2kg, it will be despatched within 48 hours of receipt and time to delivery will depend on local postal services. If the parcel weighs over 2kg, it may take longer than two days to organise shipping.

Tax and Duty on European Orders Post-Brexit

We no longer collect 20% sales tax (VAT) from our European customers.

Instead, your local postal service or courier will request VAT payment from you before delivery.  (The rate is set by the recipient country, typically about 20% of the order value.)

The postal service will also charge a customs clearance/handling fee (typically €5-10 depending on the country).

Duties may be applicable on orders valued above 150 Euros: these vary according to individual countries. Your postal service will inform you at the point of delivery.

We are looking for a better way of dealing with any EU import tax and duty payable, so that our customers don’t incur extra charges, but we haven’t found a solution yet. We’ll update this guidance once we have a solution.
