Handmade in England
Our Box Files, Portfolios, Letter Trays and other desk furniture are handmade for us in England by the archival box-makers to the King and the British Library. Sturdily and precisely constructed from wooden board and strong card, skilfully covered with our patterned paper and embellished with coordinating grosgrain ribbon and bookcloth also made in the UK, our fine patterned boxes are of a higher quality than anything that can be made by an automated process. Many of the box-makers have more than thirty years with the company, and the precision and care with which they work are hard to comprehend. The machinery is wholly mechanical and has been in constant use since the firm was founded over 100 years ago. The results are elegant: beautiful to look at, a pleasure to handle, and truly useful.
